8-Year-Old Dark Buckskin Gelding • 14.3 Hands Every once in a while, a horse comes along that is hard to put into words because there is so much to like about him. Arnold Palmer is one of those horses. He is absolutely beautiful to look at, but what makes him truly special is everything underneath the color. He is broke, gentle, dependable, versatile, and has the kind of personality that makes people enjoy being around him just as much as they enjoy riding him. Arnold Palmer is the kind of gelding that can fit into a lot of different homes. He is safe, trustworthy, and enjoyable enough for someone wanting a dependable trail and pleasure horse, yet broke and capable enough for a rider who appreciates a horse with some handle and training. In the arena, he rides the way a good horse should. He will walk, trot, and lope both directions, has a nice stop, backs willingly, neck reins, and has a smooth, correct turnaround. He has enough fancy to be fun and impressive, but he is not the kind of horse that requires you to ride him perfectly. If you want to ease around and enjoy him, he will do that too. He has also been started roping and has tracked cattle, gathered, and sorted. He is sensible around cattle and willing to go to work, giving him even more versatility for someone who wants a horse they can do a little bit of everything on. On the trail, Arnold Palmer is exactly the kind we like to have underneath us. He rides out alone or with company and has been through hills, rocks, brush, water, logs, steep country, and narrow trails. He handles traffic, dogs, bicycles, wildlife, flags, tarps, bridges, obstacles, and plenty of commotion with a calm, sensible attitude. He is careful with his feet, pays attention to his rider, and gives you that secure feeling that allows you to relax and enjoy the ride. This is also a horse we feel would be wonderful for someone getting back into riding after time away and wanting to know they have something dependable underneath them. He is forgiving, honest, and does not take advantage of his rider. On the ground, he is just as easy to appreciate. He stands tied, bathes, hauls, is good for the farrier, and is comfortable living in a stall or pasture. He has a sweet personality, enjoys attention, and is simply pleasant to have around. There are horses we are happy to represent, and then there are horses that really mean something to us. Arnold Palmer is one of those. We truly love this horse and everything about him. We are extremely proud to offer him, and there is definitely a part of us that is sad to see him go. He has earned that feeling because he has been honest, dependable, enjoyable, and exactly the kind of horse we are proud to put our name behind. He is beautiful standing still, impressive under saddle. but his mind, training, dependability, and heart are what make him truly special.
